Launched in 2011 by Anthropologie's parent company URBN, BHLDN (pronounced “beholden”) is a bridal and occasion-wear brand headquartered in Philadelphia. It was created for the bride seeking a unique, non-traditional aesthetic, moving beyond the confines of classic bridal salons. The brand’s signature style blends bohemian romance with vintage-inspired details, featuring soft, flowing silhouettes, intricate lace, and ethereal tulle. BHLDN offers a curated collection of wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and accessories, including both in-house designs and collaborations with designers like Jenny Yoo and Watters.\n\nCatering to a modern audience that values individuality, the brand has become a go-to for everything from garden weddings to city hall ceremonies. In 2020, BHLDN made a significant commitment to inclusivity by launching a plus-size collection with sizes up to 26W, ensuring consistent pricing across all sizes and fitting gowns on true plus-size models. While it operates primarily online and through shop-in-shops at Anthropologie stores, the brand cultivates an aspirational yet accessible identity, positioning itself as a stylish, budget-friendly alternative to traditional luxury bridal.
