Bob Mackie product data

Bob Mackie is an American designer whose name is synonymous with show-stopping glamour and theatricality. Beginning his career in the early 1960s as a sketch artist for Hollywood costumers like Edith Head and Jean Louis—for whom he famously sketched the dress Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President”—Mackie quickly established his own dazzling design voice. He became a household name through his work in television, particularly as the costume designer for the entire 11-year run of *The Carol Burnett Show* and for his decades-long collaboration with Cher, creating her most memorable and boundary-pushing looks. Known as the “Sultan of Sequins,” his style is defined by its fearless use of beading, feathers, and body-revealing silhouettes designed for women who are not afraid to be noticed.
