Founded in 1900 in Vienna, Werkstätte Carl Auböck is a fourth-generation family workshop celebrated for its witty, modernist approach to industrial design and home accessories. Originally established by Karl Heinrich Auböck as a traditional bronze-casting studio producing miniature "Vienna Bronzes," the brand was transformed in the 1920s by his son, Carl Auböck II. Influenced by his studies at the Weimar Bauhaus, Carl II shifted the workshop’s focus toward functional modernism, introducing signature materials like polished brass, hand-sewn leather, cane, and natural wood.
