Founded in 1986 in Houston, Texas, by Farouk Shami—a hairdresser who sought to create a safer, chemical-free salon environment—CHI (Cationic Hydration Interlink) revolutionized the professional haircare industry. The brand is best known for introducing the first ceramic flat iron, utilizing advanced technology to deliver salon-quality heat styling to the masses. CHI’s core product lines include its signature thermal styling tools and the cult-favorite CHI Silk Infusion, a reconstructing complex that provides smooth, frizz-free results.
