Hanes product data

Founded in 1901 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Hanes has become a cornerstone of American apparel by providing comfortable and accessible innerwear and basics. The company was started by John Wesley Hanes, who transitioned from the tobacco industry to textiles, first establishing a mill for socks and later merging with his brother’s underwear company. This history cemented Hanes as a mass-producer of everyday essentials, a reputation it has maintained for over a century. Its core identity is built on reliable, no-frills items such as soft cotton t-shirts, foundational underwear, and socks that are widely available to a broad consumer base.
