Oliver Peoples product data

Founded in West Hollywood in 1987, Oliver Peoples emerged as a quiet departure from the bold, futuristic eyewear of the era. The brand’s identity was born from a serendipitous discovery: an estate collection of vintage, American-made frames, which inspired a new category of intellectual, classic designs. Rooted in the culture of Los Angeles, with its undertones of film, art, and music, the brand forgoes conspicuous logos, favoring instead subtle details and superior craftsmanship. The collections feature timeless silhouettes, all handcrafted from high-quality acetate and titanium in specialized factories in Italy and Japan. This commitment to understated luxury and heritage has cultivated a loyal following among discerning consumers and Hollywood A-listers. Collaborations with the estates of icons like Cary Grant and Gregory Peck reaffirm its connection to cinematic history, while partnerships with fashion houses such as Brunello Cucinelli and Khaite keep its designs relevant. Now under the ownership of EssilorLuxottica, Oliver Peoples maintains its design studio in Los Angeles, continuing to blend its California heritage with meticulous, artisanal production.
